I suffered from back pain for quite a number of years. Every time I woke up in the morning, I would have to sit up in a certain position in order to help alleviate the pain in the lower back.
I then decided to visit a chiropractor and after a few sessions with him, I noticed a difference where there were a number of mornings where I work up pain free, which needless to say, I was delighted with!
“A vast majority of people suffer from neck and back pain at some point in their lives” says Sarah from The House Clinics (check them out if you’re looking for the best chiropractor Bristol has to offer), and much of this is down to bad posture which is mostly attributed to the fact that many white-collar workers spend extended periods of time sat at an office desk.
The problem occurs when we develop bad posture and as that bad posture develops it starts to place unnecessary strain on parts of the neck and back.
So it’s no wonder that many people seek the treatment from a chiropractor or physiotherapist. But what does the evidence suggest? Does this method of treatment actually help alleviate back and neck pain?
Well according to the following survey by Cynthia English and Elizabeth Keating, they found that 6/10 adults strongly agreed that chiropractic care is effective at helping to alleviate their aches and pains.
Majority in U.S. Say Chiropractic Works for Neck, Back Pain
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chiropractic care has a positive reputation among many U.S. adults for effective treatment of neck and back pain, with about six in 10 adults either strongly agreeing (23%) or agreeing somewhat (38%) that chiropractors are effective at treating these types of pain.
What I found particularly interesting about this article is that around 50% of people in the USA have been to see a chiropractor for some reason or the other.
It just goes to show the extent of which people suffer from pain which can be extremely debilitating and you can imagine the effect it has on the economy as many people have to take time off work to recover.
Is if you have never gone to see a chiropractor before, it might be worth you checking out your local clinic and giving them a call to see how they can help you.
